Oompa, Loompa, Doopity-Do - I've got a little self tan post for you

Ever since I stopped fake and baking last year I've tried to keep up my "glow" with self tanners. Some I do OK with, others I eff up horribly and I look like an Oompa Loompa. Take the pictures below, for example.

Hugely embarrassing photos after jump

This looks like I suffer from Vitiligo
Isn't that an  AWFUL job? I used "Life Brand" (Shoppers drug mart brand) continuous self tanning mist. I've had moderate success with the spray mists before but this is just wrong.
I'm not 100% sure if it was solely my application skills or also the formula. The mist was VERY wet, you can see where it pooled down to my feet and the backs of my ankles.  I also held it back far enough from my body, that's probably how I got the soles of my feet. Which is why I'm wearing flats to work today.

When I was using the sunbeds I still used self tanner from time to time especially on my arms and legs because they never got as dark as I wanted them to be.  But now that I don't have that "base tan" my lack of skill is much more apparent.

Life brand gives GOOD colour. It's not for amateurs though, this was the "medium" bottle. I much prefer neutrogena as the mist is micro fine where as this is very, very wet. And runny. Last night I managed to fix the really uneven spots with a "self tanning mitt" I picked up but forgot I had. Spray the stuff on the velour mitt part and rub on your body.

So far in my arsenal still -Coppertone self tan mist, Life brand self tan mist (YOU SO RUNNY AND BAD) Dior self tanning "gelee" and the Duwop self tan glaze.  I really like the smell of Duwop.

Here's to a week of severe foot knee and heel exfoliation!

Oompa Loompanesss!
